NICK IGEA
Palma de Mallorca, 1974. He studied Acting in various schools and training centers there. In 1992, he moved to Madrid to pursue his university studies and join the film industry. In 1997, he graduated in Audiovisual Communication from the Complutense University of Madrid.
He has directed four short films: “Corderos de Dios/Lambs of God” (1996), “Eduardo Peláez” (2001), “Melodías Tóxicas/Toxic Melodies” (2002), and “Encuentro/Encounter” (2009). His work has been screened at festivals such as Montreal, Rotterdam, Los Angeles, Sao Paulo, Montpellier, Clermont-Ferrand, Miami, Palm Springs, etc., receiving several national and international awards.
He combines his professional work with teaching as a professor of Audiovisual Communication, and Advertising and Public Relations at the Complutense University of Madrid. In 2017, he founded his own film school, Makkers School, where two Master’s programs in Production and Directing are taught, along with other courses. Over the years, he has alternated different roles in advertising, working as Production Manager, Assistant Director, and also as Director.
In 2014, the synopsis of the feature film project “UN PASEO POR EL BORNE/A WALK ALONG THE BORNE” was selected by the Mediterranean International Film Festival of Montpellier (CINEMED), within its Projects in Development section.
A few years later, he wrote the screenplay together with Elio Quiroga and Zebina Guerra, obtaining all possible institutional support in the Balearic Islands: ICIB (Govern de les Illes Balears), Fundació Turisme Responsable de Mallorca (Consell de Mallorca), IB3 (Balearic autonomous television), etc. In 2023, filming took place, marking his first feature-length film as a director. “A WALK ALONG THE BORNE” was released in cinemas throughout Spain in 2024 and has received to date 40 awards at international festivals. It is currently available on Amazon Prime Video.
